On Tuesday, October 20, 2026, the Master’s thesis defense session of Mr. Mahmoud Zavar, a graduate student in Urdu Language and Literature—entitled “An Investigation of the Scientific and Literary Services of Dr. Zeinab-olsadat Alikhan,” supervised by Dr. Ali Kavousinejad—was held at the Faculty of Foreign Languages and Literatures, University of Tehran. The respected professor, Dr. Zeinab-olsadat Alikhan, was also in attendance.

Subsequently, in a special ceremony attended by the Dean of the Faculty, Dr. Karim Motahar, along with Dr. Yahyapour, Dr. Haddadi, Dr. Bayat, Dr. Kiumarsi, Dr. Azam Lotfi, Dr. Yazdanmanesh, Dr. Zahed Mounir Amer, as well as a group of researchers and students of Urdu Language and Literature, Dr. Alikhan was honored and commended for her years of teaching, training students in Urdu language and literature, and her valuable scientific, cultural, and research activities through the presentation of a plaque of appreciation and flowers.

In his remarks, Dr. Karim Motahar praised her, referring to her as the “Mother of Urdu Language and Literature in Iran.” Finally, Dr. Alikhan shared her memories in the fields of teaching and the expansion of Urdu language and literature in Iran and the University of Tehran, expressing her joy and delight at being present at the ceremony and the Faculty.
